Common questions
I'm not getting notifications. Check that notifications for AuthorPing are allowed in your phone's settings, and that the alert types you want are switched on in AuthorPing → Settings. Also check the series isn't muted (the bell on its row). Missed an alert? The bell on the Upcoming screen lists recent updates.
When do alerts arrive? You're told when a book you follow gets a release date, and again on the morning it comes out, at about 9am your time. Premium adds reminders before release day.
A release date or book is wrong or missing. Our book information comes from Hardcover (hardcover.app), which is maintained by its community. Corrections made there reach AuthorPing automatically. You can also tell us through Settings → Tell us something.
I didn't get my sign-in code. It can take a minute to arrive. Check your junk or spam folder. Codes last 15 minutes; you can ask for a new one from the sign-in screen.
Do I need an account? No. An account backs up your lists so you can sign in on a new phone and get everything back.
How do I move my books from Goodreads or StoryGraph? Export your library from Goodreads or StoryGraph as a file, then use Settings → Import from Goodreads or StoryGraph in AuthorPing.
How do I take my library with me? Settings → Export your library saves a file that Goodreads and StoryGraph can import.
How do I delete my account? You tab → Account → Delete account. This removes your email address and everything saved to it, on every phone you signed in on.
What does Premium include? Advance reminders, alerts when an author you follow announces something new, a weekly round-up instead of one alert at a time, calendar sync and personalised recommendations. New users get a 30-day free trial.
